Remove Mold from Clothing

Mold grows on clothing just like it does on any other surface. If you can’t part with a certain item of clothing, you don’t necessarily have to throw it away. In some cases it can be easily removed from your clothing.

Products to Use

You can use many different items to get mold out of clothing:

Baking Soda
Mold Killer

Tips on Killing Mold in Clothes

Wash the clothing with one of the products listed above and use hot water. Hot water is more effective when it comes to removing mold than cold water is. If you’re using mold killer, you’re going to want to wash the clothes first with the mold killer. Then, wash them again using normal cleaning products. Afterwards, allow the clothes to dry outside in the sun.

Preventing Mold on Clothes

There are certain ways to prevent your clothes from becoming moldy. One of them is to make sure that you don’t let your clothes sit in a damp pile after they come out of the dryer. Make sure to either hang them up if they are still damp, or put them in the dryer for longer until they are completely dry. This also applies to sweaty clothes or wet clothes. They will need to be washed immediately or left out to dry quickly so they don’t become moldy.
